Flower Beetle (Smaragdesthes africana oertzeni) Family- , Tribe- .

They originate from Kenya. They take 69- 70 days to hatch from cacoons. I keep the adult beetles on Eco Earth, which is much cleaner then the one that is made for their maggots and does not attract fruit flys. Then when the eggs are laid, i incubate them in the soil that they can eat when the eggs hatch.

Diet: Larva; Oak, Chestnut and Birch. Beetles; Apples, Bananas, etc. especially soft sugary foods.
